Anyone who knows me knows that i generally despise Christmas music. Certainly, there are some good Christmas songs - "Happy X-Mas (War Is Over)" by John Lennon, "Father Christmas" by The Kinks" and "Fairytale Of New York" by The Pogues - but the vast majority of Christmas songs are just fucking awful.
So what a wonderful surprise it is to listen to the new Dan Hicks And The Hot Licks Christmas CD, titled "Crazy For Christmas." I'm about 3/4 of the way through, and every song so far is fun, quirky, silly, wonderful. So here it is, the rarest of beasts: a good Christmas album.
